The Farm Week in Photos

A 2 bushel box filled with 'display' leafy greens, root veggies, Asian greens, lettuce, and spinach as produce examples for potential gocery store buyers.

The last of the fall's apples. These became canned applesauce.

They said I couldn't 'leek' this photo. (haha).

The first frost killed mostly Galinsoga, thankfully.

MASSIVE purple top turnips! Like 8 pounds.

My favorite high tunnel- left to right- 4 beds; arugula, red russian kale, and 2 beds of braising greens mix. Harvested when still small and all mixed together to create a beautiful and delicious mesclun greens mix!

The days have been much shorter, with the sun rising 5 minutes later and setting 5 minutes earlier everyday until the winter solstice. This was taken first week of November, a beautiful, crisp morning.

The Bok Choi, Tatsoi, and Vitagreens in this tunnel are stunning. Notice how they are 'facing towards' me instead of straight up? That's due to the sun moving lower across the eastern sky in the fall/winter, the vegetables move towards the sun to receive maximum exposure.

Carrot me if I'm wrong, but aren't these a bunch of beauties?!
